Day 2 consisted of flying, flying, and… flying. Our flights ran from Winnipeg to Vancouver to Tokyo to Bangkok. We got lucky on our really long flight from Van city to Japan that it was half full so we could claim three seats each and stretch out to sleep- thank ya Jesus! Very comfortable considering it was a plane- we thought we almost got it better than first class cuz we could stretch out.. minus the extra snacks they got, oh well I’d take the extra room! So about 4 movies and a few naps later we arrived to our final destination, Bangkok. We found our airport shuttle service for our hotel to the Dwella Suvhurhumi where we basically crawled into bed and passed out for the evening!
Day 3 (July 23)- today marks our 2nd anniversary!! We had an awesome day sleeping in, enjoying a lovely breaky at our hotel, swimming, for a Thai massage, then explored Suhumvit soi 11, which is this long street with TONS of places to eat, shop, and tiny little vendors everywhere. We ate delicious food at “invite” and experienced our first DOWNPOUR. So we were happy to be eating inside and people (and rain) watching. We were gonna hit up Rot Fai Market, which is a huge night market but it was raining so hard and so much traffic we thought the booths would probably be closed up. So we headed back to the hotel. Here there are cars that are kinda like ubers in Canada but they’re called “grab” for cheap. So we ordered one and started our way back… 2 hours later (crazyyy traffic jams the whole way) we got back. I’ve never seen traffic like that, not sure why it was like that but our driver didn’t seem phased so maybe it’s quite normal..? We made it safe and sound then hit the hay.
